New classes at Carrollwood Cultural Center

Carrollwood, Florida -- The Carrollwood Cultural Center has added several classes to its spring and summer course curriculum, including introductory courses for Italian and Spanish.

The two new foreign language classes, taught by Robert Creighton, will review the basics of grammar, syntax and vocabulary. The classes are open to teens and adults, and each cost $67.50 to $75 for a six week course. The addition to the curriculum comes after several requests for the Center to offer classes in Italian and Spanish.

Other new classes include a monotype printmaking workshop with Gainor Roberts, photography workshops with Orlando-based photographer George Wilson, a food and weight loss course with health coach Geraldine Novy, MD, and a digital photography editing course.

The Center is also pleased to offer returning popular classes such as watercolor, acrylic, drawing, hand building, wheel throwing, computers, ballet, tap, ballroom dancing, yoga, Zumba®, guitar, piano and theatre courses. Classes are available for kids, teens and adults. The average cost of a six-week course is $90 to $105. Most classes will start the week of April15.

Potential students are invited to an open house and class preview at the Center on Thursday, April 4 at 6:30pm until 8pm. Instructors will be available to answer questions. In addition, students who register for a class at the open house will receive an additional five percent off their tuition.

Course schedules are available at the Center, located 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa, and online at CarrollwoodCenter.org.  Please visit the website or call (813) 269-1310 for more information.
