Tampa, Florida -- Patel Conservatory students from high school, college and adult theater classes taught by Kerry Glamsch and Jack Holloway will perform a collection of short plays and excerpts in Evening of Shorts on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at the TECO Theater at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
 
Students will perform excerpts from plays such as "Raisin in the Sun," "Blood Diamond," "Favors," "Don Quixote," "Boeing, Boeing" and "The Underpants." Overall, 15 pieces will be performed.

Regularly priced tickets start at $10 and may be purchased by calling 813-229-STAR (7827) or 800-955-1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at the Straz Center Ticket Office or online at www.strazcenter.org.

The following day, May 18, starting at 1 p.m., placement auditions will be held for Patel Conservatory summer theater programs, such as "Little Shop of Horrors," to be choreographed by Michelle Elkin, choreographer of ABC-TV's "Baby Daddy."
