Try a Performing Arts Class for Free at Patel Conservatory

Try a Performing Arts Class for Free at Patel Conservatory

The Patel Conservatory offers classes in music, theater and dance for folks of all ages and abilities. (A lot of people think these classes for children only, and only for children who have a special talent - but that is NOT true!) Even I have taken dance classes there, and I'm 45 and uncoordinated.

From Monday, Jan. 31 through Saturday, Feb. 5, during the performing arts school’s “Try a Class For Free Week,” everyone is invited to try a class to see how they like it.

Wendy Leigh, vp of education at the Straz Center, said, “It’s 2011 and time to try something new! Our Try A Class For Free Week is a great opportunity to come in and check out a class before signing up. Get a feel for the class, observe the instructor and the student interactions and decide if it’s something you’d like to try yourself.”

All classes in theater, music and dance will be available for either participation or observation.
