Avon Park, Florida-- Alligators: Dragons in Paradise Exhibit is now on display at South Florida State College’s Museum of Florida Art and Culture (MOFAC).

Organizers say spectators can expect a fun day of fact and fantasy:

Created by the Museum of Florida History, Alligators: Dragons in Paradise is a potpourri of fact and fantasy that explores our enduring fascination with the alligator and the alligator’s symbolic and sociological role in Florida history.

Tampa, Florida -- Hundreds of high school performers are in Tampa from around the state to participate in the Florida Thespian Festival at the Straz Center downtown!

Broadway performer Quentin Darrington, (Ragtime) is here at the Festival helping to select the winner of the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Art’s Broadway Stars of the Future Awards. Patel Conservatory Theater Chair Ami Sallee also will judge the contest. Two winners will be chosen to go to New York to compete for scholarship money in the national Jimmy Awards competition.

"Wild & Wonderful" Exhibit at MOTA nearing an end

 

Sebring, Florida-- Don't miss your chance to catch the "Wild & Wonderful" exhibit at MOTA! The exhibit will close with the month.

Highlands Art League announces a new exhibit featuring the “Wild & Wonderful” wood-carving and mixed media talents of local artists John Shoop and Beth Johnson.

An array of sea-life themed pieces carved by Shoop, some natural and some wildly painted by partner artist Johnson, will be on display through March.

Admission to the exhibit is free to the public.

The Culture and Thrills Collectibles Gallery will be showing the vintage posters along with works from local artist on Saturday, March 23rd.

"The Art of Exploitation: A Tribute to Movie Poster Art" opens at 6 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m.

The Culture and Thrills Collectibles Gallery is located at 5205 North Florida Ave.
