The Patel Conservatory at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts seeks to provide high-quality arts enhancement programs for local schools and organizations through outreach partnerships. Applications for the 2013-2014 Community Partnerships program are available now and will be accepted through April 26.

Each year, the Patel Conservatory works with underserved area schools, Tampa Bay area agencies and community organizations to provide individualized performing arts programming or tickets to shows at the Straz Center. Arts programs may include workshops, master classes or performing arts classes.

“A major part of the Patel Conservatory’s mission is to share the transformational power of the performing arts both here at the Straz Center and out in the community. Our partnership program allows for a wonderful blend of both,” said Wendy Leigh, vice president of education at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. “We see every day that this partnership program makes a profound difference in people’s lives who normally wouldn’t have access to our arts programming.”

The application process includes a written application and in-person interview. All previous partners must reapply to be considered. Selection criteria include, but are not limited to, application completion, demographic requirements, geographic location and special needs.

To receive a partnership application and for more information, contact Tina James at 813.222.1002 or visit www.patelconservatory.org and click on Education Outreach.

The Arts Education School & Community Partnerships Program is sponsored by Bloomin’ Brands and funded in part by The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, The Community Foundation of Greater Sun City Center, the Couch Family Foundation, Hardin Construction Associates Charitable Foundation, JPMorgan Chase Foundation, MetLife Foundation, the Tampa Bay Times Fund, Target, T. Rowe Price Foundation and the JS Turner Family Foundation.

The not-for-profit Straz Center is committed to arts education as an essential part of its mission, and the fully accredited Patel Conservatory makes it all happen. Each year, the lives of more than 50,000 children are enriched in classrooms, on stages and through outreach programs. The conservatory offers classes in dance, music and theater for students of all experience levels. Registration, tour scheduling and more information are available at www.patelconservatory.org and by calling 813.222.1002.
