Foul languarge and threats part of Channelside negotiations | Business
Tampa, Florida -- More problems are arising between the Tampa Port Authority and the Liberty Group that wants to develop Channelside in downtown Tampa. The Port owns the land Channelside is on.
Wednesday news leaked that the Port was asking the group to put up $10 million dollars for renovations to Channelside in order to consider forgiving the million dollars in debts by the former developer.
The Liberty Group offered to put up $2 million and the port said that was unacceptable.
Now the Port has sent another letter to the Liberty Group chastising it for harsh and foul language as well threats made during the negotiations. The Port says it won't be tolerated and some are saying it shows how the deal is on the verge of blowing up.
A spokesman for the Liberty Group has declined to comment
