Zoning Hearing Master holds meeting next week

Tampa, Florida -- If you have a zoning issue in Hillsborough County you will want to be at the Zoning Hearing Master Meeting at 6 p.m. this coming Monday, June 3.

It will take place in the 2nd floor Board Room at County Center, located at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd in downtown Tampa.

Following the meeting the Zoning Hearing master makes a written recommendation to Hillsborough Commissioners on whether to approve or deny a zoning request.

Hillsborough Commission on Status of Women meets this week

Tampa, Florida-- The group that advises the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners on women's issues, the Commission on the Status of Women, is meeting thisweek.

County officials say the meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 on the 26th Floor Conference Room B at County Center.

If you have an interest in women's issues in Hillsborough County, you're welcome to attend. The county center is located at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd in Downtown Tampa.

Hernando Co. government Memorial Day closings

Brooksville, FL -- All Hernando government offices and Hernando County Solid Waste Management facilities will be closed Monday, May 27th, 2013, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.

Note that Republic Services will not provide trash collection service on Monday, May 27th, but it will be back in operation the next regular collection day.

All county offices and solid waste facilities will reopen Tuesday, May 28th.

Foul languarge and threats part of Channelside negotiations

Tampa, Florida -- More problems are arising between the Tampa Port Authority and the  Liberty Group that wants to develop Channelside  in downtown Tampa. The  Port owns the land Channelside is on.

Wednesday news leaked that the Port was asking the group to put up $10 million dollars for renovations to Channelside in order to consider forgiving the million dollars in debts by the former developer.

The Liberty Group offered to put up $2 million and the port said that was unacceptable.
