Spring Hill, FL-- Hernando Youth Initiative’s Workforce Transition Team invites young people to meet with the community to explore their options in the workplace at this free event co-sponsored by The Kiwanis Club of Weeki Wachee and Career Central. 

"The Youth Options Expo will host local businesses, organizations and institutions to offer solutions for young people to become successful in the world of work," explains a release about the event.

Board of Adjustment to meet in downtown Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- The Hillsborough Building Board of Adjustment, Appeals and examiners is meeting next week in downtown Tampa. 

The board confirms applicants who are applying for building certification and it takes disciplinary action against those who fail to comply with building regulations.

The board meeting is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, in the 18th Floor Planning Commission Board Room of the County Center. The center is located at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd.

On the second of Wednesday of every month, the Ladies Networking Group meets for lunch at Sebring Elk's Lodge Ballroom for a luncheon, a speaker and other programs. 

Organizers say the Ladies Networking Group's Lunch Club Wednesday has grown from 20 members in January of 2006, to now having more than 344 members!

To become a member, you just have to attend two consecutive meetings in a 12-month period!

Forum to discuss failed transportation referendum

Tampa, Florida--The Tampa Downtown Partnership is taking a look at the failed referendum on transportation from two years ago. The group is sponsoring a Downtown Debriefing on the failed referendum from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. December 11 at Jackson's Bistro on Harbor Island.

The head of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, Ray Chiaramonte, and Clarence Eng of Kimley-Horn Associates, will lead this discussion and share information from a post referendum analysis.

Hillsborough Co., FL-- Hillsborough County’s Small Business Information Center (SBIC) is urging holiday shoppers to support local, independently-owned businesses on Saturday, Nov. 24 - the annual Small Business Saturday holiday shopping event.

Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express, is always sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. While those two shopping days feature big retail and online shopping, Small Business Saturday is designed to encourage holiday shoppers to support locally-owned stores.
