Tampa, FL-- "It’s the time of year for giving, but don’t forget about the animals out there. Help fill bellies, warm hearts and make spirits bright,"- that's what Tampa Veterinarian Hospital is asking of locals this holiday season.

Tampa Veterinary Hospital is hosting a pet food drive through the month of December, and all proceeds will go to the homeless pets at the Lost Angels Animal Rescue in Tampa- a local no-kill animal rescue shelter dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted animals.

Tampa Veterinarian Hospital reps say they will be collecting any unopened, unexpired, wet or dry cat and dog food, heartworm prevention, puppy pads, and ear cleaner.

They say they will make it worth your while to do so, as clients will receive $5.00 off their next visit at the hospital.

“We know that with the economy, it’s really hard to feed pets sometimes and so its just nice that we can give back to the community any way we can. We are big advocates of helping, and we thought that during Christmas, it would be really nice to have a collection for needy pets,” said Dr. Melissa Webster, certified veterinarian at the hospital.

“It’s another way we can reach out to the community. The more we can do, the more we can get everyone together, the more we can help out -which is what we’re here for,” Dr. Webster said.

To donate, drop off your food or other donations at Tampa Veterinary Hospital at 2517 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33609.

Hospital hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
