Carrollwood, Florida - The Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa, will host a "If Music Be The Food" food benefit concert for Tampa Bay Harvest on Sunday, June 9 at 2pm.

"If Music Be The Food" is a collaboration between the University of South Florida (USF), Carrollwood Cultural Center and Tampa Bay Harvest, in response to reports in the news of increased need for food aid the Tampa Bay community.  Its goal is to increase awareness and support for the hungry through chamber music performances of the highest caliber.  This is the third time the Center has hosted the concert benefit.

"If Music Be The Food" is a classical chamber music outreach program that brings together musicians from the USF School of Music, The Florida Orchestra, University of Tampa and other Tampa Bay artistic institutions, who donate their services for these concerts. In addition, the Carrollwood Cultural Center donates space and staffing needs to the project.  Audience members are asked to bring non-perishable food items for Tampa Bay Harvest in exchange for admission to the concert. 

The concert on June 9 will feature the young performers of the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (TMYO), as well as their coaches and conductors. TMYO conductor William Wiedrich and executive director Jessica Calandra will also perform.
