Brooksville, FL -- In press release, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office announced their Crime Analyst Laura Lamia, graduated from the FDLE's Law Enforcement Analyst Academy, Class XXI.

The Commencement Ceremony was held for Lamia and 17 other students on Friday, June 21st in the atrium at the FDLE building in Tampa.

In order to be eligible to attend the Law Enforcement Analyst Academy, Mrs. Lamia was required to attend two prerequisite classes.  Those classes were Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training I (28 hours) and Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training II (36 hours).

The Law Enforcement Analyst Academy enhances an analyst's computer skills and proficiency, assists them with mapping and forecasting, and builds skills that they already possess in crime pattern analysis.

The curriculum also exposes the analyst to a wide variety of topics including International and Domestic Terrorism, Courtroom Testimony, Financial Analysis, and Computer Crimes.

The analyst returns to his or her agency much better prepared to assist all departments within the agency with crime tracking and prevention, ultimately making the community a much safer place to live, work, and play.
