Search for Koopa continues, missing labradoodle's owner offers reward

Brooksville, Florida-- Koopa, a one-year-old, black and ash labradoodle, was lost last month from the Rester Road area, but his loving owner isn't giving up hope.

Brendan Mulvaney wants Koopa's safe return so badly that he's announced a $1,000 reward for the person who can make it happen.

Koopa was lost on July 7, 2013 when Mulvaney was on vacation. The dog escaped from his pet sitter's home. Mulvaney has been searching for Koopa ever since- posting ads on Craigslist and hanging flyers in the area.

Mulvaney says time passed and no sightings we reported, until finally, nearly a month and a half later, he received word that someone spotted Koopa on Centralia.

The good news has Mulvaney feeling confident on Koopa's recovery, and thankful for the amount of help he's received from the community thus far.

"Koopa’s story is a dramatic example how great the people of Brooksville are," a recent release about the recovery effort said. "Volunteers have offered to help search for Koopa, have taken time off of work, posted signs and handed out flyers."

Mulvaney has since hired a Search Dog with Pet Search and Rescue to assist in locating him too.

If you happen to spot Koopa, you're asked to call Brendan Mulvaney, 352-397-5582 or Pet Search and Rescue, 1-800-925-2410.
