Police seek help identifying team of home burglars

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help identifying the suspects in a residential burglary that occurred on Feb. 27 at 6313 Frost Drive in Tampa.

The suspect's, all described as white or Hispanic males entered the residence by kicking the front door in. Once inside, the suspects removed numerous electronic items, such as televisions, laptop computers, etc.

They then took off in the two vehicles described below.

Robber uses stun gun to steal man's pills outside pharmacy

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police detectives are searching for a suspect who used a stun gun to rob a man outside a pharmacy in broad daylight.

The victim told police he was walking to his car after leaving the Medicine Shop Pharmacy on North Nebraska Avenue  around 4:40 p.m. when the robber pointed the stun gun, shocked him and stole his medication.

Retired deputy arrested for trying to kill wife

Hernando County, Florida -- A retired deputy from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office is being held without bond Wednesday after he was arrested for trying to kill his wife.

Hernando Sheriff's deputies say William Tinny and his wife, Rebecca, had gotten into an argument earlier in the evening Tuesday. Later that night around 1:45 a.m., William went into the bedroom where Rebecca was sleeping with one of her children and woke her up.

The two started arguing again and Rebecca told police, William told her he would "put an end to her" and that he was going to kill her.

Sought: Wanted car burglars using stolen credit cards

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help identifying two people who attempted to use stolen credit cards at a Tampa Target.

Deputies say on Jan. 8 at 4:50 p.m., two unknown suspects broke into two separate vehicles, parked in the YMCA parking lot in the 8900 block of Waters Avenue, by smashing the windows on both vehicles.

They then removed various items including a wallet and purse and went to the Target also on W. Waters Ave. and used the victim's credit card to buy $424 worth of gift cards.

3 grow houses busted in Brooksville in 3 days

Brooksville, Florida -- The Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit had a busy couple of days busting two Brooksville grow houses just three miles apart and another in Spring Hill.

Brooksville Police captain arrested for battery

Spring Hill, Florida -- Brooksville Police Captain Richard Hankins was charged with battery following an investigation into an incident at a Christmas party on Dec. 22.

Hernando Sheriff's deputies responded to call about a battery at a home in Spring Hill where Fred Taclik claimed Captain Hankins battered him while they were both guests at the party.

An investigation into the allegations was conducted that weekend and detectives determined there was enough evidence to support Taclik's claim and an arrest warrant was issued for Hankins.

Tip leads to marijuana grow house bust in Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- Two young adults have been arrested for running a grow operation our of their home.

On Jan. 2, Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives executed a court authorized search warrant at a home on Beacon Isles Drive.  

Detectives found one bedroom and closet that was converted for the sole purpose of cultivating marijuana. A total of 15 marijuana plants were recovered, along with 38 oxycodone pills, over $1,300 in U.S. currency and a Ruger .38 revolver.
