Man arrested for sexually battering aquaintance

Brooksville, Florida -- A Brooksville man was arrested late last week for allegedly kidnapping and sexual battering a female acquaintance while giving her a ride to her friend's house.

Brooksville Police say Thursday night, 50-year-old Leonard Lenon Jones picked up the woman up in the area of 200 East Avenue, who then asked him to drive her to a friend's house. After she got in the vehicle, she told police Jones refused to take her to her friend's and, instead, drove to the dead end of Hendricks Avenue, parked in a concealed spot and physically attacked her.

The woman said he then choked her, hit her, and threaten to kill her if she did not have sex with him. After the attack, he drove her to Ponce De Leon Boulevard where he dropped her off and said he would kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

The woman told police she and Jones have known each other for about a year.

Jones was arrested soon after and is being held on bond totaling $40,000.
