Unregistered sex offender arrested after detective's radio blast
Crime

Brooksville, Florida -- An unregistered sex offender was arrested minutes after he was described by a detective on a local radio show Wednesday morning.

In an effort to track down Jason Adey who was at large in the community for failing to register with the county as a sex offender, Hernando Sheriff's Detective Tom Breedlove appeared on WWJB's local morning show and blasted his description to listeners.

Within about a minute, someone called the sheriff's office informing deputies Adey was currently at the Hardee's restaurant on Cortez Boulevard and Jefferson Street.

Thanks to the citizen's call, Brooksville Police officers and Hernando Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene and Adey was arrested.
