SFWMD employee arrested for grand theft, drug possession

Spring Hill, Florida -- Following an arrest for drug possession, an investigation revealed a Southwest Florida Water Management District employee had stolen and pawned 14 laptops from his employer.

The Hernando Sheriff's Office says deputies pulled over Tyler Scotland in the area of Libby Road and Everett Avenue in Spring Hill on Nov. 20 around 8 p.m. When the two deputies came in contact with Scotland, they noticed he was acting extremely nervous and his hands were shaking.

Final suspect in Deputy U.S. Marshals shooting arrested

Sebring, Florida -- The last person wanted in connection with the shooting of two Deputy U.S. Marshals at a Sebring home Wednesday is in police custody.

House fire leads to discovery of marijuana grow house

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire only to discover a grow operation for marijuana.

Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives say firefighters responded to the home on Hollyglen Drive around 3 a.m. and were able to put the fire out that caused moderate damage to the home.

During a search of the inside of the home, firefighters discovered the marijuana grow operation.

Police search for Tampa Grow Financial bank robber

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help identifying the man who robbed a Tampa bank Friday afternoon.

Deputies say a black male walked into the Grow Financial Credit Union in the 13300 block of N. Dale Mabry Highway and handed the teller a note demanding money while making verbal threats to physically harm her.

Supermarket shooting: 1 dead behind Whole Foods

Carrollwood, Florida -- A fight turned deadly between three people, including a former Tampa Bay Storms arena football player, Tuesday morning.

Hillsborough County deputies said they received a 911 call around 10:30 about a fight in the back parking lot of Whole Foods Market off Northdale Boulevard in Carrollwood.

By the time they arrived, one man -- later identified as 31-year-old Deshaun Gregory -- had been shot in the head and was found lying next to a white SUV belonging to David Saunders.

School crossing guard arrested for sexual battery

Hernando County, Florida -- A school crossing guard has been accused of sexually battering a woman at his home.

The woman told Hernando Sheriff's deputies James Woods attacked her in the early morning hours while she slept in a bed at his home.

She told deputies the attack happened after she took her medication that makes her incoherent to the point that she is heavily sedated after about 15-20 minutes. She said she was sexually battered three times that day and couldn't stop it because her medication makes her physically incapacitated.

Masked man robs Tampa convenience store

Tampa, FL - Tampa Police officers are asking for the public's help identifying the man who robbed a convenience store in Tampa Sunday night.

Officers say at 11:29 p.m., a man walked into the Radiant Food Store on Dale Mabry Highway wearing a red ski mask, approached the clerk at the counter and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk told police the man held his hand inside his jacket pocket, implying he had a gun. The clerk gave him money from the register and he ran off.
