Son arrested in neglect death of mother

TAMPA, Florida (AP) - A man has surrendered to authorities who were looking for him in connection with the neglect death of his mother.

The Tampa Bay Times reports 45-year-old Osmond Ignatius Winston was the only one of four family members not arrested last month in the death of 65-year-old Mary Winston. He was arrested Tuesday evening.

Tampa, Florida -- The alleged shooter in a man's death on Interstate 4 over the weekend will remain behind bars, says a Hillsborough County judge.

Tampa Papa John's armed robbers sought

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police officers are asking for the public's help in identifying two men who robbed a Papa John's Pizza business at gunpoint Monday night.

Officers say around 11:47 p.m. on July 1, the men went into the restaurant in the 500 block of East Hillsborough Avenue through the front door and started demanding cash.

The man, seen wearing a black hat in the surveillance video, pointed a gun at one of the employees. He then grabbed the employee by the arm and pulled him to the back of the business.

Police: Man burglarizes neighbor's home multiple times

Spring Hill, Florida -- Hernando Sheriff's detectives say when the same home in the 4400 block of Cadbury Road was burglarized on four different occasions between June 17 and June 28, they knew they had to act quickly.

So, they canvassed the neighborhood and quickly developed a suspect, Eloy Feliciano, who lives next door to the burglarized home.

Feliciano was then brought into custody for an interview. After being read his rights, detectives say Feliciano admitted to burglarizing the home on several occasions.

Police: Man "mentors" teens on burglarizing homes

Spring Hill, Florida -- The arrest of two teens in connection with the burglary of one home led police to their "mentor" and the uncovering of the trio's crime spree.

Hernando Sheriff's deputies say it started with the burglary of a home in the 9200 block of Swiss Road on May 29. The victim reported to police someone broke into the home through the garage window and inside wooden door and stole an acoustic guitar, a white electric tuner, a 19-inch television, a black guitar, a silver and black aluminum bat and a black amplifier.

3 sought in armed bank robbery

Carrollwood, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help identifying three men who robbed a Carrollwood PNC Bank Monday morning.

Detectives say on July 1, around 9:50 a.m., the three men walked into the bank located at 12000 block of N. Dale Mabry Highway armed with handguns.

Two of them jumped over the front counter and took money while the third suspect remained in the lobby and ordered the bank customers to the floor at gunpoint.

Suspected burglars face additional charges in string of break-ins

Lake Placid, Florida -- Two suspects are under arrest, charged in six additional residential burglaries taking place in the Leisure Lakes area of Highlands County.

The burglaries happened between May 18th and May 23rd.

Investigators say 19-year-old Samuel Ramos and his brother, 20-year-old Devin Soto, both of 3134 Oleander Drive in Lake Placid, have each been charged with six counts of burglary to a dwelling, three counts of grand theft, two counts of grand theft with a firearm, two counts property damage/criminal mischief, and one count petit theft.
