Hernando County, Florida -- Hernando County residents could be eligible for credit on their water bills for attending "Contain the Rain - A Rain Barrel Workshop."

According to a press release, the workshop will be presented by John Korycki of the Hernando County Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Program.

It will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 25, at the Hernando County Utilities Department, 21030 Cortez Blvd. in Brookesville.

Each participant will receive a completed rain barrel, along with instructions on its proper use and set-up.

Using rain barrels in your landscape is a great way to reduce dependence on irrigation and supplement rainfall when it's dry. Hernando County Utilities Department customers may be eligible for a $25 credit on their water bills for participating in this workshop.

The cost for the class is $55 per completed barrel, only checks or money orders will be accepted. Pre-registration is required and will be accepted on a first come basis.

Participants are also invited to attend a free micro-irrigation seminar in the same location, beginning at 10 am.

Call John Korycki at (352) 540-6230 for pre-registration or for more information.
