Brooksville, FL -- As part of Hernando County's 2012-13 Water Awareness Series, the Hernando County Utilities Department held the sixth educational seminar Friday morning.

The important educational seminar was held at its traditional location, the Hernando County Utilities Department, 21030 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL  34601.  

Today's topics of discussion included the following:

"How is our water resource protected and the roles of agencies involved in 
protecting it!

  • Part 1: What is the Southwest Water Management District's role in protecting water resources? Presented by Chris Zajac, SWFWMD
  • Part 2: What is the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority's role in protecting water resources? Richard Owen, Executive Director WRWSA
  • Part 3: Where does your water come from and how does it get to your home Presented by Ricky Leach, HCUD"
