Brooksville, FL -- As part of Hernando County's 2012-13 Water Awareness Series, the Hernando County Utilities Department held the sixth educational seminar Friday morning.

The important educational seminar was held at its traditional location, the Hernando County Utilities Department, 21030 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL  34601.  

Today's topics of discussion included the following:

Hillsborough to return to one-day-a-week lawn watering

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Hillsborough officials announced Wednesday that they'll be enforcing tighter water restrictions throughout the county as of March 13 because of below normal rainfall, reduced river levels and increasing water supply concerns.

All residents will be limited to watering their lawns once a week, and officials said this rule even applies to those who are not public utilities customers.

An exception will be made for reclaimed water customers, but they are also being urged to use as little as possible.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Park Services department has announced the launch of their new, free mobile application, which will serve as an interactive guide for users on the go at any of Florida's 171 parks, trails and historic sites.
