Sebring, Florida-- The United States Police Canine Public Display will be at the Sebring High School football field tonight at 7 p.m., and this family-friendly event will have a little something for everyone!

According to a Highland's County Sheriff's Office release, the highly trained K-9 units will strut their stuff as they compete in areas of agility, tracking abilities and apprehension techniques. Then, the best performing pups will be announced as winners tonight before trophies and plaques are doled out at tomorrow's awards luncheon.

And officials say the dogs won't be the only ones who can win tonight! According to the release, all kids in attendance will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of two bikes being given away.

The Public Display event associated with the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region I Field Trials and Certification will be held Thursday, May 23rd beginning at 7:00PM at the Sebring High School Football Field. Everyone is invited to attend and watch these highly trained K-9 units perform. They will show their agility, tracking abilities and apprehension techniques during the performance.

Highlands County Commissioner Don Elwell and Punta Gorda Police Captain Jim Nichols will be the Masters of Ceremony for the performance. Sebring High School’s ROTC Honor Guard will be presenting the colors and the National Anthem will be sung by local personality Nellie Guzman-Ford. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will be providing a helicopter for use during the event – exactly what their role will be is a surprise!

As a special incentive for Highlands County youth to attend, the USPCA in conjunction with the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office will be giving away two bicycles during the program. Youngsters will be given a ticket when they enter the stadium and the drawings will be held at the conclusion of the event.

Please make plans now to come and bring the family to experience the best K-9 teams in the state of Florida! Again, it’s 7:00PM Thursday, May 23rd at the Sebring High School Football Field.
