Ghost Tour at May-Stringer Historical Museum

Brooksville, Florida--Legend has it that the 151-year old former residence of pioneer Frank Saxon is still inhabited by some of its residents, including three-year old Jessie May Saxon.

If you care to find out, reserve your spot for the ghost tour this Friday, September 6 at Saxon's old house, which is now the May-Stringer Historical Museum.

It takes place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors may bring hand-held cameras and recording devices. There is a cash only cost of $20.00 per person.

Kids Racing for Charity event in Sebring

Sebring, Florida-- This coming Saturday and Sunday, September 7th and 8th, 2013, Drivers Education and the PBOC will host a charity event at the Sebring International Raceway.

The "Kids Racing for Life" Charity event will be giving kids, many of whom have been ill with cancer, and their siblings and family members’ rides on the track in race cars and street cars. Organizers say they have set aside time Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.  to noon for these rides.

Commissioners hold public hearing on comprehensive plan

Tampa, Florida-- The comprehensive plan dictates where Hillsborough County will grow in the next several years.

The County Commission will hold a public hearing on the comprehensive plan and amendments to it at 6 p.m. on  Thursday August 29th in the 2nd Floor Boardroom  of County Center.

County Center is located at 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

"Celebrate Fall" Gala Event to benefit Hernando County educational organizations

Hernando County, Florida-- The upcoming 2013 Celebrate Fall Gala will benefit two organizations that work to better Hernando County's education system.

Both the Chamber Education & Training Association (CETA) and Communities In Schools (CIS) will benefit from the black tie optional, Friday evening affair- where for $50, guests will enjoy light appetizers, a three course gourmet bufft, vegetables, sides, a beverage and dessert.

A $25 ticket will let you sample a variety of craft beers and tastes of area restaurants from 6 to 9 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided as you try delicious and unusual flavors. This promises to be a fun evening for everyone!

Brooksville, Florida -- The Hernando County Sheriff's Office Youth Teen Driver Challenge is a defensive driving and vehicle control program designed for teenage drivers. 

The two-day program is designed to provide young drivers, age 16, 17 and 18, with the knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics and human kinetics, the forces created by an automobile and the effects of the forces on the human body.
