Brooksville, Florida -- Wednesday, the Brooksville Enrichment Center is offering a free tour after a senior seminar on peripheral artery disease.

The seminar is scheduled for 2 - 4 p.m. in the conference room on the first floor of Brooksville Regional Hospital, which is located at 17240 Cortez Boulevard.

Dr. John Ablan will present a seminar on peripheral artery disease, including risk factor identification, modification and therapy.

Debbie Druzbick, executive director of the Enrichment Centers of Brooksville & Spring Hill, will review the programs, classes and activities offered, along with giving free tours of the Brooksville Enrichment Center.

Tampa, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission has issued an Air Pollution Advisory "due to elevated levels of the pollutants ozone and particulate matter."

This advisory became effective at 2 p.m. today June 16 until dusk tomorrow, June 17.

According to the county EPC, based on current numbers at multiple air monitoring stations, there is the potential for levels to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups Air Quality Index range for the pollutant ozone today as well as tomorrow.

Due to various fires throughout the state, the commission is currently seeing elevated particulate matter as well.

Physicians can now easily biopsy legions and place markers for planned treatment.

Brooksville, Florida -- Monday, the Silverthorn Country Club in Brooksville is hosting a seminar about a minimally-invasive way to manage an enlarged prostate and prostate cancer.

Dr. Omar Hamoui will speak at the seminar, which is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 6.

Brooksville, FL -- The Hernando County Health Department, in cooperation with Gulf Coast Area Health Education Center (GNAHEC), offers free one on one counseling to help residents kick the tobacco habit.

Veronique Polo, MPH, CHES, a trained tobacco cessation specialist, is available each Wednesday at the Brooksville clinic, located at 300 S. Main Street, to provide education, quitting strategies and support, and information and access to free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patches, gum, lozenges).
