Orlando, FL -- Big plays down the stretch lifted the Armwood Hawks to victory over Miami Central, 40-31, in the Citrus Bowl.

Armwood scored on two interceptions returned for touchdowns in the first quarter to lead Miami Central, 16-14, at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, Alvin Bailey connected with Wade Edwards for a 32-yard touchdown reception giving the Hawks a 23-14 lead.

Miami Central answered immediately on the ensuing kickoff, returning it 99 yards for a touchdown to pull within 2, down 23-21.

In the 4th quarter, Armwood led 30-24 and Bailey struck gold, extending the Hawks lead even more with a beautiful 80-yard pass play to Matt Jones putting Armwood up 37-24.

Miami Central kept it close scoring a touchdown with 5 minutes left to make it 37-31, but Armwood iced the game with a 43-yard field goal care of Nick Feely with just 37 seconds left and Armwood claimed the 6A title game, 40-31 the final.
