Flavors of Tampa Bay: Salute Italian Restaurant | News
Spring Hill, Florida - Chef Gaetano DeLuca came to Spring Hill with the hopes of opening up a successful Italian restaurant. Less than one year later, Salute Italian restaurant was named the best Italian eatery by a Hernando Today Readers Poll.
It starts with the bread: each loaf is made fresh daily. Salute is famous for their olive bread, pepperoni bread and Italian bread. That warm bread can be dipped into a plate of fresh olive oil.
The name "Salute" in Italian means "health." DeLuca's philosophy is, "Everybody has good and bad days. When you go out to dine, it's a time of family, no worries. You want to have a good time. Salute is about family, good food and saluting good health."
Chef Gaetano loves to make the rounds in his restaurant, making sure everyone is happy. If you're not sure what you want, he can create a new dish based on what you like.
