Car found in UT student hit and run

South Tampa, Florida - Detectives with the Tampa Police Department say they've found the car believed to be involved in Sunday's hit and run that sent a University of Tampa student to the hospital.

A source says the car involved was found in Brandon.

Investigators say 21-year-old Vincent Lanci was crossing Howard Avenue just south of North A Street early Sunday morning around 3, when he was hit by a gray or silver 2007 Acura TL 4-door sedan. The driver kept going.

Lena Gosik is Vincent's cousin. Tuesday evening she said, "Vinny is still in ICU listed in serious condition and everything is still little-by-little, hour-by-hour."

Vincent underwent surgery Monday.

His mother told 10 News on Tuesday that he's now breathing on his on after being removed from a respirator.

Vincent, a University of Tampa finance major, was slated to graduate in May.  His roommates believe he was walking home when someone ran him over.

Detectives are working on leads to determine who was driving the car at the time of the crash. Anyone with additional information, is asked to call Tampa Police.
