Protect people and pets from wild animals

Hillsborough County, Florida - With reports coming in of human-wildlife interactions in urban neighborhoods, Commissioners have called for a public awareness initiative to help the public know what to do.

The County will team up with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to provide communities with the information they need to protect themselves, their pets and property for their safety and the safety of the wildlife. Commissioners have received calls about coyotes and wild hogs, while interactions with raccoons and other animals were also discussed.

A community education plan is to be brought before the Board in 30 days.

Until then, residents can learn more on coyotes and wild hogs from the FWC's website:  http://myfwc.com.
