Brandon, Florida -- This story has since been updated. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Detectives arrested 18-year-old Washington Beltran in connection to the case.
A report sent from the sheriff's office on Thursday, May 16, said Beltran confessed to brutally murdering 27-year-old Wilkin Baker behind a storage facility off Providence Road on Monday night.
Previous information: The investigation of a "suspicious death" launched Tuesday morning has since been classified as a homicide because of violent upper body trauma.
Officials say they will not release the victim's identity until his next of kin has been notified, but he's been described as a 27-year-old black male.
The investigation continues and detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
Hillsborough deputies describe a man's death as being "suspicious" after his body was discovered Tuesday morning.
Investigators say a landscaping worker discovered a body shortly after 7:30, outside a storage facility located at 707 Providence Road in Brandon.
Deputies say the adult male appeared to have upper body trauma. Homicide detectives will be working for the next several hours working with Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office to determine a preliminary cause of death.
