City of Tampa: No trash pick-up on Labor Day

Tampa, Florida-- The City of Tampa has released a modified trash collection schedule for Labor Day, Monday September 2, 2013. Those with routine trash pick-up on Mondays will be affected. 

We've included the city's explanation below: 

  • Residential: There will be no garbage, yard-waste recycling, or blue-box/green cart recycling collection on Monday, September 2, 2013. Garbage collection will resume on the next scheduled service day, Thursday, September 5, 2013, and blue box/green cart recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Monday, September 9, 2013.
  • Commercial: Commercial accounts scheduled for service on Monday, September 2, 2013 will be serviced on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week. Normal collection schedules will resume Monday, September 9, 2013.
  • McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed on Labor Day, and the normal schedule will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
