Tampa International Airport finalist in national restroom contest

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa International Airport announced the good news on Twitter Thursday it has been named a finalist in 12th Annual Cintas' America's Best Restroom Contest -- but they need your help to win!

According to Cintas, before blessing the budget to renovate Tampa International's main terminal CEO Joe Lopano wisely noted that his airport restroom facilities "reflect the level of customer service provided by the business and it is something that people remember, for better or worse, so always make sure it's better".

The 20 restrooms were renovated to feature automated, hands-free conveniences that exude a sanitary and modern feel. The focal point of each restroom is the full-wall graphic glass mural with a different image in each restroom. The murals were created from photographic prints that are floating between 2 panes of glass and were selected to depict scenery, animals and plant life all native to the state of Florida.

In addition to cosmetic improvements, TIA also incorporated eco-friendly features including airblade hand dryers, LED lighting fixtures and low-flow toilets and urinals.
