Rescued panther kitten rehabbing at Lowry Park Zoo

Tampa, Florida -- A rescued Florida panther kitten has arrived at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo for neonatal care and rearing.

FWC says a team of panther biologists rescued the approximately week-old kitten at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge in Collier County in mid-January while there conducting research. At just one pound, FWC veterinarians say the male kitten had a dangerously low body temperature and was non-responsive.

50-year-old man found dead

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man.

Juan Ordonez was found in his home on W. Arch Street Sunday morning. Authorities say he suffered upper body trauma.

His death is being treated as a homicide. There are no suspects at this time.

Brooksville credit card skimmers potentially obtained 342 card numbers

Brooksville, Florida -- In an update to the credit card skimmers found at a Hess Station in Brooksville, detective found that 342 credit card numbers were located on the devices. 

The skimmers were found Wednesday on pumps 1,2,7, and 8 at the Hess Gas Station at 26260 Cortez Boulevard.

Fatal pedestrian crash on North Florida Avenue

Hillsborough, Florida -- Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The crash occurred on North Florida Ave. and Fletcher Ave. as a Ford truck was traveling northbound on Florida Avenue. The 64-year-old pedestrian was standing on the sidewalk shoulder and began to cross the street when he was hit by the truck and died on scene. 

Florida Highway Patrol will be conducting the investigation while HCSO with traffic control.

Credit card skimmers found at Brooksville Hess Station

Brooksville, Florida -- Four skimmers were recently located on the gas pumps at the Hess gas station located at 26260 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville.

The skimmers were "internal," which means there is no way they could have been detected by the customer and they were only discovered during an inspection of the pumps by the manager. 

The skimmers were placed within the pumps between 6 p.m. on Feb. 18 and 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 19. The skimmers were placed on pumps 1, 2, 7, and 8.

Fundraisers underway for restaurant gutted by fire

Seminole Heights, Florida - Hours after flames destroyed a Seminole Heights restaurant, fundraisers are underway to help its employees and owners.

Early Tuesday morning, a fire broke out at Domani Bistro on N. Florida Ave.

An electrical malfunction in a walk-in freezer is blamed for sparking the blaze that gutted the restaurant and adjoining furniture store.

Locals help businesses burned in Seminole Heights fire

Tampa, Florida-- A Seminole Heights fire burns down two businesses overnight.

A restaurant called Domani Bistro and Lounge and an antique furniture store called A Modern Line went up in flames early Tuesday morning around 2:00 off North Florida Avenue and East North Street.
