Virginia Singer selected as public information manager for Hernando County

Hernando County, Florida -- County Administrator Len Sossamon announced today that he has selected Virginia Singer as Hernando County's new Public Information Manager. Ms.

Singer will replace long-time employee Brenda Frazier who is retiring from her position as Community Relations Coordinator at the end of the month after 37 years of service.

A Brooksville native, Ms. Singer is a Hernando High School graduate and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of South Florida. She has worked for the Southwest Florida Water Management District for the past 13 years as the Senior Communications Coordinator where her duties included  designing and implementing strategic communications plans and serving as project manager for public information and education projects.

Ms. Singer's responsibilities as Hernando County's Public Information Manager will include communicating with the news media, coordinating public outreach initiatives, tracking progress on the County's recently approved strategic plan and facilitating public relations for the County. Ms. Singer's first day on the job will be Monday, September 30th.

"Virginia has a strong background in public sector communications, experience with public and customer relations and a thorough knowledge of our community. 

I believe she will be a great asset to the County's team," said County Administrator Len Sossamon.
