Brandon, Florida-- On Thursday, May 31, the McDonald's on Causeway Blvd. will host a Voter Registration Drive from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

The exact location of the McDonald's is 1110 Causeway Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511.

Hernando County considers cutting 18 voting precincts

Brooksville, FL -- The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing on the county's voting precincts.

The hearing will discuss the possibility of reducing the number of voting precincts from 57 to 39. These changes are proposed based on several factors:

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner is hosting public office hours at the Seminole Heights Branch Library on Friday, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beckner hopes to hear from people of the Seminole Heights community as well as connect them to their County government.  

The Commissioner and his staff welcome this opportunity to meet citizens to discuss their ideas and concerns regarding issues taking place in Hillsborough County.

No appointment is necessary and residents are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

County votes to reduce meetings

Sebring, Florida -- During a meeting Tuesday, April 3, Highlands County commissioners unanimously voted to reduce the number of meetings each month from four to three.

Newssun.com reports it was a lengthy discussion that began with Commissioner Ron Handley commenting on how out of all of the 67 counties in the state, Highlands is the only one that meets every week each month.

Discussion then turned to logistics of how the meetings would be constructed and the length and time of future meetings.

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Commissioners are tossing in the towel in their legal fight against former County Administrator Pat Bean, but it's the taxpayers that are going to take it on the chin to the tune of more than half a million dollars. 

The county lost in court, fighting the decision to pay, but now they've decided not to appeal and will pay her the money, lots of money.

Public hearing to discuss Fiscal Year 2012 Budget

Hillsborough County, FL -- The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing to discuss amending the Fiscal Year 2012 Budget on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at the County Center, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

The public hearing will be held to revise revenues and adjust associated appropriations, transfers and reserves based on Fiscal Year 2011 year end balances.
