It's Primary Day in Eastern Hillsborough County. These are a couple of pics I snapped near Bell Shoals Baptist Church.

It was a slow start to voting, only a handful of people were there when I walked by.  But, as always, the signs were ready for those who walked in still undecided.

Carrollwood -- Saturday, Jan. 28, is the last day to cast an early vote for the GOP primary election.

Only registered Republicans can vote in this closed primary. The winning candidate will receive all of Florida's 50 delegates.

In Carrollwood, the closest voting location is the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W Bearss Ave.

But registered Republicans can vote at any of the following locations.

Tourist Development Council to meet

Hernando County, FL -- The Hernando County Tourist Development Council will meet on Thursday, Jan. 26 to discuss ways on developing and promoting tourism in the county.

The meeting time is 2:30 p.m. and will be held at the Microtel Inn and Suites I-75, 6298 Nature Coast Blvd., Brooksville, Florida. the public is invited to attend.

The Tourist Development Council typically meets on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Lake Placid, FL -- The Town of Lake Placid will hold its election on April 3 to fill two seats on the Town Council.

Any elector of the town can run for the council, however, you must have been registered to vote in town elections 6 months immediately preceding the date of taking office, in this case Oct. 3, 2011, and must be a resident of the Town of Lake Placid.

The qualifying period will be between noon on Feb. 13 and noon on Feb. 17.

Hernando County, FL --  Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary Election for registered voters in Hernando County begins Saturday, Jan. 21.

Only voters registered by the Jan. 3 deadline are eligible to vote in the Primary election. Early voting will end on Jan. 28, and regular voting for the Primary will take place on Jan. 31.

The Hernando County Supervisor of Elections wants to remind you that early voting does not take place at your regular polling place.

Public meeting on Lake Mead, Lake June drainage projects

Brandon, FL -- The County is holding a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19 to discuss the Lake Mead and the Lake June stormwater projects near North Parsons Avenue in the Brandon area.

The goal of the projects is to minimize flooding in these areas and improve the quality of the discharged stormwater.  County staff will be at the meeting to discuss the details of the projects and answer any questions residents may have. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Brandon High School, located at 1101 Victoria Street.
