Tampa, FL-- Today, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office began mailing county-wide sample ballots for the November 6 General Election to all registered voters who have not yet requested a Vote By Mail ballot. 

According to the Supervisor of Elections, all registered voters are encouraged to review the sample ballot before election day because it is six pages long and "will require some time to navigate."

The branch office of the Hernando County Supervisor of Elections office is now open to the public and will remain open through the General Election.

Two local questions on upcoming General Election ballot

Hernando County, FL-- All Hernando County Voters will be asked to mark their ballots "yes" or "no" on two questions which will appear on the November 6 General Election ballot. 

The first question is whether you favor the levy of a property tax of up to one-tenth of one mil (.1 mil) to fund the acquisition, management, and maintenance of environmentally sensitive lands, with the program to sunset on September 20, 2021.

Commission holds public hearing on amendments to the Comprehensive

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Commissioners are giving the public an opportunity to express their feelings on amendments to the County's Comprehensive plan.

Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing on the amendments at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4.

The hearing will be held in the second Floor Boardroom of County Center 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

No tax increase for SWFWMD

No tax increase for SWFWMD

Tampa Bay, Florida -- Although the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) increased its operating budget by $4.5 million for the coming fiscal year, property owners will not pay a higher tax to the state agency responsible for flood control and surface and groundwater quality in the Tampa Bay area.

Tuesday night the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board approved the 2012-13 fiscal year budget and millage (or tax) rate. The fiscal year starts Monday, Oct. 1.
