Save the date to Meet the Candidates

Carrollwood, Florida-- The North Tampa Chamber of Commerce announces an upcoming Political Roundtable, where you can meet your local candidates.

According to the Chmaber's website, this event will alow attendees to learn more about the candidates running for local offices and their stance on important issues.

The event takes place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11 at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, 2701 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa.

Brandon, Florida-- Both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions have passed, but the election is still a few months off, meaning you still have time to register to vote!

Tomorrow, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office will host a Voter Registration Drive from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hillsborough Community College (HCC) campus in Brandon.

The Brandon campus is located at 10414 E. Columbus Dr.

Tomorrow, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office will host a Voter Registration Drive from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army. They will have the same event at the same time on Friday.

The Salvation Army is located at 1514 N. Florida Ave.

Commission will hold public hearing on Community Investment Tax changes

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Commissioners are considering changes to approved projects to be funded from the Community Investment Tax.

That is the tax that, in addition to funding several projects in the area, also paid for the construction of Raymond James Stadium.

Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed changes 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 in the second floor boardroom of County Center located at 601 East Kennedy Blvd.

3 added to list as potential inductees for Women's Hall of Fame

3 added to list as potential inductees for Women's Hall of Fame

Tampa, Florida --The Hillsborough Committee on the Status of Women meeting in Downtown Tampa has added three names to a list of 10 finalists to be inducted into the Florida Women's Hall of Fame this year. 

The three are Clara Fry, former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio and former Hillsborough Commissioner Dottie Berger McKinnon.

Once the list is completed the names will be sent to Florida Governor Rick Scott who will then choose three who will then be inducted this year.
