Story Time for Toddlers in Town N Country

Town 'N Country, Florida - The Town 'N Country Regional Library will host Story Time for Toddlers on October 8. 

The program is geared for children 3 to 5 and their caregivers.

Children will hear stories, action rhymes, songs and interactive activities in a 30-minute program that highlights early literacy skills and encourages reading readiness and social interaction.

Story Time begins at 11: 15 a.m.

The Town 'N Country Regional Library is located at 7606 Paula Drive.

Carrollwood, Florida - Adults and teens are invited to the Jimmie B Keel Regional Library on October 7, for an Introduction on eBooks and eReaders.

Learn which devices can download the library's free eBooks and how to load eBooks onto various types of eReaders.  Discover the lobrary's large selection of eBooks in various formats.

The class starts at 7:00 p.m.

Teen Advisory Board in Town 'N Country

Town 'N Country, Florida - A Teen Advisory Board meeting is scheduled in Town 'N Country October 3.

New members are invited to join the Teen Advisory Board to get involved with the Library's teen programs or earn community service hours for graduation, scholarships and more.

The event is scheduled for October 3 at 4:30 p.m.

The Teen Advisory Board is for grades 6-12 and is funded by the Friends of the Town 'N Country Regional Library.

Virginia Singer selected as public information manager for Hernando County

Hernando County, Florida -- County Administrator Len Sossamon announced today that he has selected Virginia Singer as Hernando County's new Public Information Manager. Ms.

Singer will replace long-time employee Brenda Frazier who is retiring from her position as Community Relations Coordinator at the end of the month after 37 years of service.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Florida Park Service will celebrate National Literacy Month with special events at state parks statewide. The month will be celebrated in conjunction with International Literacy Day on Sunday, Sept. 8 and National Library Card Signup Month.

Commissioners hold public hearing on comprehensive plan

Tampa, Florida-- The comprehensive plan dictates where Hillsborough County will grow in the next several years.

The County Commission will hold a public hearing on the comprehensive plan and amendments to it at 6 p.m. on  Thursday August 29th in the 2nd Floor Boardroom  of County Center.

County Center is located at 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.
