Expansion scheduled for Bloomingdale Library

Expansion scheduled for Bloomingdale Library

Valrico, FL - The Bloomingdale Regional Public Library will undergo a $2.6 million expansion project in 2011, almost doubling the size of the building, from 15,000 to 25, 000 sq. feet of "people space." Hillsborough County Commissioners approved the project to expand the small but bustling library, which has been serving communities in East Hillsborough for around 5 years.

“The goal of the project is two-fold,” according to Manager of Operations and Technology for Hillsborough County Public Library System David Wullschleger as told to the Osprey Observer. “The first is to keep the library open and fully functioning during the construction. The second goal of the expansion is to provide people spaced as opposed to book space as there is a great need for expanded space for meetings and other community events. ”
