Hillsborough County is holding a public meeting to discuss a proposed new site for the replacement of the existing South Brandon Fire Station #7, currently located at 122 W. Bloomingdale Avenue.

Town 'n Country, Florida -- Adults can get help in searching for jobs as well as enhancing networking skills at the Town 'n Country Library on Jan. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

Help will be given on developing your resume and writing a cover letter.

Participants can take part in mock, practice interviews and receive feedback.

Town 'n Country Library is located at 7606 Paula Drive.

Carrollwood, Florida -- Adults and teens are invited to an eBooks for Kindle and Kindle Apps class at the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library on Jan. 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Learn how to check out and download free library eBooks to read on the Kindle or any device using the free Kindle app and Overdrive.

You can also discover how to use library eBooks with an Amazon.com accounty.

Limited seating is available and registration in person is required no earlier than one hour prior to the start of the program.

Insurance Committee to meet

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Employees who are concerned about their insurance benefits may want to be at the County Insurance Committee Meeting at 8:30 a.m. this Thursday Jan. 17.

The meeting takes place on the 26 Floor of the County Center in Conference Room B. The County Center is located 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

Hernando Co., FL-- Looking for some fun events for the family at your local library? Take a look at some scheduled for the month of January!:

Ongoing Events:

Toddler Times are at 10:30 and Storytimes are at 11:15 a.m. every Tuesday through Friday. Toddler Time is recommended for ages 18 to 35 months, and Storytime is recommended for ages 3 to 5 years. No registration is required. These programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library, and the regular schedule is:

Canoe rentals available Hillsborough parks

Carrollwood, Florida - Residents in Hillsborough County may not know that canoe rentals are available in many county parks. 

Four-hour rentals are offered at $25. Park entry fees will also apply at $2 per vehicle carrying up to eight people, and $1 each additional person. Only cash, check and traveler's check payments are accepted at this time.

Alderman's Ford Regional Park, 9625 Canoe Launch Loop in Lithia, is the seventh Hillsborough County Park to offer canoe and kayak rentals.
