Lake Townsen Regional Park reopens fishing ramp and pier

 

Hernando Co., FL-- The boat ramp and fishing pier at Lake Townsen Regional Park has re-opened for small vessel boating, says the County Parks and Recreation Department. 

The ramp and pier closed back in September because of rising water levels from heavy rainfall.

The parks is located at 28011 Lake Lindsey Rd (C.R. 476).

Ms. Murman and her staff welcome this opportunity to meet residents and to discuss their thoughts and concerns on various projects and community issues taking place in Hillsborough County.

No appointment is necessary to meet with Commissioner Murman and her staff. Residents are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Spring Hill, FL-- The Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department will be closing the Skate Park Ramp portion of Pioneer Park, also known as Stewy's Skate Park,  today, October 10 and tomorrow, October 11, for necessary maintenance activities.

Hillsborough County Parks: From nature to Wi-Fi

Tampa, FL-- Hillsborough County Park, Recreation and Conservation is excited to announce that free Wi-Fi service is now available at 12 recreation centers.

According to the county, this Wi-Fi service will available from 7 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, and is part of Hillsborough County's efforts to continuously improve the experiences at its facilities for its residents.

The following recreation centers were selected to offer free Wi-Fi because they are the busiest:

Seminole Heights Library to triple in size

Tampa, FL-- The Seminole Heights Branch Library will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, October 31, for the demolition and construction of a new replacement library. This heavily-used neighborhood library will be rebuilt in the same location, but the new library will be triple its previous size to meet the needs of the community.

When it is completed, the new two-story, 22,000-square-foot library will include:

Tampa, Florida - Hillsborough County's Strategic  plan gets discussed next week as Commissioners hold a workshop on the plan.

The workshop will be held from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 4 on the 26th floor of County Center in conference rooms A and B.

Public hearing to discuss SR 50 changes

Public hearing to discuss SR 50 changes

Hernando County, FL-- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, will conduct a public hearing on the proposed improvements to SR 50, or Cortez Boulevard, this coming Thursday, September 27.

The propsed changes would fall within Lockhart Road and US 301, or SR35/Treiman Boulevard, for a length of 6.3 miles, explains the Department explains in a release.

The hearing, which will give the public an opportunity to express their views on the proposed changes, will take place at the Ridge Manor Community Center, 342 Cortez Boulevard in Dade City at 5 p.m.
