Tampa, Florida-- Various libraries around the Bay area will be hosting a fun event for children from kindergarten- eighth grade called "LEGO My Library" this month.

Teen Book & Film Fest

Tampa, Florida-- It's the International Teen Book and Film Festival at the Seminole Heights Branch Library on Tuesday, July 31.

Participants will be able to join in a book discussion and then watch the movie based on that book of that day.

The event starts at 4 p.m. and runs till 6 p.m.

There will also be a bookswap and other activities.

Tourist Development Council to hold quarterly meeting

Tampa, Florida-- In order to help manage how public dollars for tourism are spent,  Hillsborough County has a Tourism Development Council  or TDC. 

The TDC will hold its regular quarterly meeting at 3 p.m. August 9 in the in the 2nd Floor Boardroom of County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd in Downtown Tampa.

Tampa, Florida -- Do you need to get your teens out of the house for an hour?

On July 26, The Seminole Heights Branch Library is holding a class that will teach your teenagers how to make cool crafts using recycled materials.

They'll learn how to make wallets and bags using everyday items like newspaper and tape!

The class is on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Membership Meeting to touch on crime prevention

Tampa, Florida-- A general membership meeting will be held in South East Seminole Heights on Tuesday, July 17.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Kathryn Malone Center.

That's on the south east corner of Giddens Ave and 12th Street.

Officer Veronica Hamilton of the Tampa Police Department will speak at the meeting.

She'll speak about on the topic of CPTED, or Crime Prevention through Environmental Design.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for refreshments.

Town 'N Country to discuss Skateboard Park

Town 'N Country, Florida - Hillsborough County will hold a public meeting to discuss the proposed construction of the Northwest Skateboard Park Project within Jackson Springs Park.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at Jackson Springs Recreation Center, 8620 Jackson Springs Road in Tampa, on Tuesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m.

The proposed Project includes the construction of a 10,000-square-foot outdoor concrete skateboard park. The estimated design and construction cost is approximately $600,000, to be paid for through Parks Impact Fees.

MAS Community Theater to host auditions for 'Goodbye Charlie'

Tampa, Florida- Calling all actors in the Carrollwood area!

The Carrollwood Cultural Center’s MAS Community Theatre will hold auditions for the comedy Goodbye Charlie on Sunday, July 15 and Monday, July 16 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.
