Preserving History

The Tampa Bay region is rich with history. In Tampa alone, there are more than 2,700 properties that are officially designated as historic, plus thousands more that qualify, but haven't yet earned or applied for the city designation.

Among those 2,700 properties are all the cute bungalows, Spanish casitas and Craftsman-style homes, packed with original charm like wood windows, hardwood flooring, buil-in bookcases and tiled porches.

Best use ever for failed bank building?

See what I spotted the other day? I believe this constitutes the best.use.ever for a failed bank building. Jimmy Johns is coming to Brandon. I snapped this picture at the corner of Kings and SR 60 Sunday afternoon.

For those of you unfmaliar, Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches is a chain of sub shops that make great tasing sandwiches with little or no frills (IMO). I expect you'll be able to catch me there rather frequently when they finally open up.
