Carrollwood Day School construction update

Carrollwood Day School construction update

Carrollwood -- What a difference a week makes!

Most of the fencing surrounding the main entry to the Bearss Avenue campus is down and crews are working 7 days a week to complete the finishing touches on the front entry loop and renovations to the main building!

Perhaps the most dramatic change over the last couple of days is that the Visqueen has been removed.

All summer, a wall of translucent plastic sheeting separated International Square and the auditorium wing from the rest of the school.

Booby-trapped grow house found in Hernando County

BROOKSVILLE, FL -- At least one suspect from Hernando County is on the run tonight after setting up booby traps around a grow house filled with $150,000 worth of marijuana plants.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office had originally been called out to the property on Ganster Drive in Brooksville because the owners were reportedly stealing electricity from a transformer.

Hernando County Sheriff Al Neinhuis says that's when he suspected there may be a grow house there. When deputies arrived and looked at the property, they found barbed wire strewn across the lawn, boards plastered with sharp nails, and electric wire sprawled out along steps and railings. Inside, they found dozens of marijuana plants.

Brooksville, FL -- The foreclosure epidemic in the United States is showing no sign of slowing down, especially since millions of Americans are underwater on their mortgage, owing more than their home is worth.

Facing foreclosure is stressful for families, especially if they do not full understand the process. To educate homeowners about the options that are available, the Neighborhood Community Foundation will conduct a free foreclosure prevention workshop in Brooksville on Tuesday, June 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Quality Inn at 30307 Cortez Blvd.

An independent, nonprofit organization based in Sarasota, the Neighborhood Community Foundation strives to help residents develop a better understanding of the foreclosure process, recognize their legal rights, and learn about their options and potential solutions so they can remain in their home.
