Native New Yorker brings pizza, fine Italian to Lake Placid | Restaurants
Lake Placid, FL -- Make 'n The Dough opened its doors at a new location across from DeVane Park in Downtown Lake Placid and is thrilling customers will authentic New York-style pizza and Italian fine dining.
Native New Yorker Erick Kelecseny says his goal was to bring a little taste of the "Big Apple" into Lake Placid.
"I built everything from the ground up," Kelecseny said. "I'm using the last of my life savings."
Before becoming a restaurant owner, Kelecseny operated his own boat marina in Lake Placid but was forced to close following the downturn in the economy.
After talking to friends and neighbors he heard people in Lake Placid wanted a good place to get pizza.
Make 'n The Dough serves amazing 6" - 22" "create your own" pizzas with more than 16 toppings to choose from. The menu also includes traditional Italian dishes, gourmet wraps, sandwiches and homemade cakes.
"The only thing I miss about New York is the food," he said. "That's why I opened the restaurant," said Kelecseny.
