Register for 19th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K!

Tampa, Florida--Registration is now underway for the 19th annual Tampa Police Memorial  5k/1 mile run/ walk.

The race kicks off at 8 a.m. on Saturday October 12th, starting in Downtown Tampa, going along Bayshore Boulevard and ending up back at the Tampa Police Station Downtown.

Registration costs $25 for the 5k run and $15 for the 1 mile walk. On race day, registration goes up to $35.

Advance registration closes Wednesday October 9.

Ride the rails at the second annual Crew Lake Park Appreciation Day

Spring Hill, Florida -- The Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad is sponsoring the Crews Lake Park Appreciation Day September 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

This annual event is to introduce the park to new users and for Tampa Bay Area residents to check out the current amenities within the park. The event will also continue to raise funds to create R/V spaces for overnight visitors.

Highlands County Habitat for Humanity to host Golf “Fore” Homes

Sebring, Florida-- The Highlands County Habitat for Humanity is hosting Golf “Fore” Homes on Saturday September 21st  at the Country Club of Sebring, located at 159 South Commerce Ave. Sebring, FL 33876. 

Registration will begin at 7:30 am, followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 and the four person scramble. Golfers will receive a complimentary practice round reception on Friday, September 20th.

Kids Racing for Charity event in Sebring

Sebring, Florida-- This coming Saturday and Sunday, September 7th and 8th, 2013, Drivers Education and the PBOC will host a charity event at the Sebring International Raceway.

The "Kids Racing for Life" Charity event will be giving kids, many of whom have been ill with cancer, and their siblings and family members’ rides on the track in race cars and street cars. Organizers say they have set aside time Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.  to noon for these rides.

Tour of Sebring cycling event set for Labor Day weeked

Sebring, Florida-- The Tour of Sebring cycling event is set to take place from Saturday, August 31 through Monday, September 2- or Labor Day weekend.

The Tour of Sebring website says those who register to ride will enjoy one, two or three days of cycling in the gently rolling hills of Highlands County, excellent buffet lunch meals by Chef Mac, ice cream socials, door prizes, and more while riding along our low traffic roads, and seeing citrus groves, cattle ranches, and small towns typical of rural Central Florida.
