TS Debby Mitigation meeting cancelled because of TS Isaac

Brooksville, Florida-- A new storm heads our way, so those with lingering questions regarding the last one will just have to wait.

The Sheriff's Office's Emergency Management Section scheduled a Mitigation Workshop, which was supposed to provide residents with the opportunity to ask specialists questions about their remaining TS Debby Damage.

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Fire Rescue means business when they say, "Remember to have your plan now."

They're talking about prepations for Tropical Storm Isaac, which could potentially be dubbed "Hurricane Isaac" in the very near future.

To ensure that Tampa residents know just want to do to prepare, Tampa Fire released a video touching on the topic.

Sandbags available in Town 'N Country

Town 'N Country, Florida - Residents in northwest Hillsborough County can get sandbags in the Town 'N Country area.

Recent rains have filled ditches and ponds and there may be more rain on the way if Tropical Storm Isaac follows its forcasted path.

"Hillsborough County is making sandbags available to the public from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., starting August 23 at all three County Public Works Service Units:

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Fire Rescue units were on scene of a power line down in the road in the area of King St, and E North St. just before 4:30 this afternoon.  

Power crews have secured the power line in this area, but Tampa Fire Rescue advises everyone to remember to use extreme caution if you see a line down. You should presume that a line is charged until you learn otherwise by officials.

They also advise you to remember to stay indoors during lightening, and refrain from driving in areas of water in the roadways.

Storm causes traffic light and power outages, fallen trees

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Police Department has reported several intersections currently have non-functioning traffic lights due to weather conditions.

Officials say they have received a high volume of calls in dispatch, and officers currently work to get to the intersections to direct traffic.
