Brooksville woman falsifies kidnapping

Brooksville, FL -- Three days after he 20th birthday, a Brooksville woman was arrested Tuesday after lying to police about her ex-boyfriend kidnapping her.

According to the Brooksville Police Department, Shawna Vandartsdalen, of 1071 Candlelight Blvd. Apt. C-48, told police she had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend on Monday, Jan. 24.

During the investigation, information was obtained by Brooksville police that proved Vandartsdalen statements to be false.

Town 'N Country, FL -- Giovanni Estrada, 20, is due back in a Hillsborough County courtroom Tuesday for a status hearing on his case involving two counts of Animal Cruelty. 


Estrada was arrested last year, accused of shooting his girlfriend's cat, locking her in a carrier and then tossing the carrier into the waves of McKay Bay. 


A good Samaritan heard the cat's cries and saved the animal from drowning.  On the carrier were the words "Kitty Penitentiary." Lovey had been shot dozens of times with BBs.

Avon Park, Florida-- An unusual sight in the sky is casting a large shadow on rural areas of Central Florida, where neighborhood residents are perplexed over a large white blimp flying high overhead.


"I've lived here for a long time, and I've never seen it before now," said longtime Avon Park resident Illeana Perez.
