Police: Man fires shotgun in neighborhood to impress girlfriend

Spring Hill, Florida -- A man trying to walk his dog on a neighborhood street was given a scare when someone from a passing car fired a shotgun blast.

When a sheriff's office deputy arrived, the man pointed out the location of the Jeep where the shot came from which was now parked at a home in the 11000 block of Exmore Street. The deputy then searched the Jeep and found four unused Winchester shotgun shells and a 12-gauge shotgun on the floor of the front passenger seat.

Wanted man found hiding in mother's trunk

Brooksville, Florida -- A man wanted on burglary charges was arrested after police received information he was hiding in the trunk of his mother's car Sunday night.

Brooksville Police say they were called to the home in the 700 block of Hammock Road after they received information that Richard Branon was hiding in the car parked in the driveway. 

When they arrived, Branon's mother opened her trunk for officers to, sure enough, find him there. 

Branon, 33, is being held on $6,000 bond.

Police: Bank robber caught at local McDonalds

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Police arrested 53-year-old Donald Bryant after he reportedly robbed a Tampa bank.

Just before 5 p.m., Bryant walked into the BB&T Bank on Armenia Ave., implied he was armed to the teller and handed over a note demanding money, police reported.

Bryant received what police described as "a small amount of money" and fled the bank on foot. 

Police responded to the call, and after gaining a detailed description of Bryant, placed an alert.

Additional units, including Air and K-9, arrived and established a search perimeter.

Police: Man beats father for not cooking him dinner

Spring Hill, Florida -- A man was arrested for domestic battery over the weekend after he allegedly beat his dad because no one cooked him dinner.

Timothy Thomas told Pasco deputies his son, Kevin Reyes, kicked him and punched him several times after he got upset no one had cooked dinner specifically for him. The deputy noted in his report Thomas was still bleeding on the right side of his face from the fresh-looking wound.

Man 'trying to pick up chicks' at Walmart busted with pot

Spring Hill, Florida -- A man looking for some love at a Spring Hill Walmart was busted by police for having what he called "medical" marijuana.

On August 7, a store manager alerted a deputy about a man who was asking women inappropriate things in the parking lot of the Walmart in the 13000 block of Cortez Boulevard.

The deputy confronted Timothy Machado at his truck and asked him what he was doing there.

According to the arrest report, Machado responded, "Trying to pick up chicks."

Drunk man passes out after harrassing homeowner

Brooksville, Florida -- In probably the easiest arrest of the day, officers arrested a drunk man who passed out in front of a home Monday afternoon.

Officers say around 2:15 in the afternoon David Brown went to the front door of a home in the 200 block of Peak Drive and started hitting it. When the homeowner told him to leave, he refused, went down to the end of the driveway and fell asleep.

Officers responded and arrested 48-year-old Brown for Disorderly Intoxication.

Man defrauds over $14,000 in chandeliers in 4 counties

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have arrested a man they say was responsible for defrauding multiple Home Depots stores in four counties.

Detectives say Nicholas Anderson, of Land O' Lakes, went to Home Depot stores over 61 times in Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties and stole chandeliers through ticket-switching.
