#5 Sickles overcomes early deficit, beats Freedom

Tampa, Florida-- Sickles was the unbeaten favorite on the road at winless Freedom. But the Patriots put a scare in to the Gryphon's in the first quarter. Following back to back turnovers by both teams, Freedom's Josh Callazo punched it in to the end zone giving the Patriots a 7-0 lead.

On the ensuing Sickles possession, with their backs to the goal line Ray Ray McCloud was stripped coming out of the backfield with the ball landing in the hands of Dario Kelly, who rumbled five yards in for the touchdown. Freedom grabbed a surprising 13-0 lead.

Dragons soar past Alonso 41-7

Tampa, Florida -- Things got off to a great start for the Alonso Ravens Friday night as they jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over Jefferson High on a 23-yard scamper from running back Ish Witter. Unfortunately, that was as good as it would get for the Ravens.

Seffner Christian preps for state semifinal game Wednesday

Tampa, Florida -- The Seffner Christian girls basketball team, practiced in a unfamiliar location Monday, as they prepared for the state semifinal game -- the USF Sun Dome.

USF women's basketball coach Jose Fernandez, made the Sun Dome available for several high school girls teams who will play in Lakeland this week, in the state semifinals and finals.

Seffner Christian made it to the state tournament two years, but lost. They're using that trip as motivation.

Tampa Prep boys win state soccer championship

Melbourne, FL-- The Tampa Prep boys soccer team won the 1A state championship Thursday night, 1-0 over Scheck Hillel of Miami Beach.

In the 65th minute, Shaddy Douidar scored on a free kick, that bounded past the goalkeeper, for the game's only goal.

It was the Terrapins' second straight 1A state championship, and their sixth soccer title overall.


National Signing Day 2013

Tampa Bay, Florida -- Feb. 6, 2013, is National Signing day and there were all sorts of notable signings in the Bay area today.

5 players sign at Armwood High School

Seffner, Florida - It was a packed auditorium at Armwood High School today for National Signing Day,  however there was one face missing- Leon McQuay III. 

McQuay graduated early, and has already begun his classes at the University of Southern California, where he will be a defensive back for the Trojans. 

Despite McQuay's absence, there were five other Hawks who signed their letters of intent to play division one football next fall.

Expanded Wi-Fi in Downtown Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- There's great news for people who want to do work in Downtown Tampa.

The City is in the process of adding Wi-Fi to several municipal buildings downtown, and even to multiple parks including Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the Tampa Riverwalk, and Lykes Gaslight Square Park.

The first part of the iniative, adding the Wi-Fi to the buildings, has been completed. Spots now offering Wi-Fi are as follows:
